Inventorying the future

When you think of the future, what do you think of? The future is vast and unpredictable. Even all those meteorologists and economists can't accurately tell us what the world is going to be like in 3 days. However, based on interests of people, we can create a checklist of what to expect in within 30 years.
  • Fusion technology. In 2040, the cost of oil will rise exponentially. Nuclear energy creates nuclear waste, and initiates the possibility of a meltdown. Wind and solar sources are nice renewable sources to power objects at a small scale. Any larger, and the expense will be too extravagant to offset the production of energy actually produced. Fusion technology is a clean method of creating large quantities of energy for the future. However, at present, the required level of technological status has not yet been reached.
  • Gaming. A whole new level of gaming will emerge. Sony's MAG will allow as many as 256 individuals to fight in one map online. Headsets, game portrayed on pupils may be just around the corner. In the 1990's, pixelized games were popularized. In just a decade and a half, games are now indistinguishable from real life. Don't be surprised if there are games with vector graphics in the future.
  • Exploration in space. The space race stimulated the advancement of space exploration. We can expect outlandish results for the advancement of mankind.
  • Immense change in vocab. Oh my gawd! The words airport, antibiotic, gorilla, moonwalk, laser, tazer, whiplash, DVD, shock wave, fingerprint, proton and virus weren't around during the presidential reign of Teddy Roosevelt. We can expect many different new words to spawn in the future. In fact, texting symbols and jargons: lol, rotfl, and wtf. In the future, don't be surprised with strange jargons and acronyms that our society accepted.
  • Moore's Law. The Moore's Law is fairly simple. The resistor count of a inexpensive integrated circuit will double every two years. Even with physical limitations, mankind has continually proven this law to be true. This graph represents circuits plotted on logarithmic graph.
  • Social alteration. Our society is depended on things the society 20 years ago didn't dare dream about. Businessmen and businesswomen comunicate, fax and create documents on smartphones, send papers overseas in a matter of seconds. Teens socialize by texting constantly and using social networks. In fact, the average teen spends over 7hrs day besides a screen.
  • Absurdities. No doubt, some crazy person will do something crazy within 40 years. It's a fact of life. Count on it. Bet on it. The balloon boy incident. Paris Hilton years ago. It's impossible for nothing absurd to happen. Mankind may be the smartest race on this planet, but is also arguably the strangest race.
  • Climate. Yes, Climate. The climate is bound to alter in the future. It always had been in a path of constant fluctuation. Global Warming? Ice age? What's next? Only time can tell.
